In this day and age, when ATMs dispense only Rs. 500 & 1000 bills (we Indians call it ‘Notes’), it is only natural for us to have them neatly placed into our wallets, and ensure they don’t crumple or tear. But how often, when we get a one or two rupee coin as change, nonchalantly put it inside one of those pockets in the wallet that we hardly use! Many a time, we don’t even take the change from a cab or a rickshaw driver. And that’s not always because we were in a charitable mood, but more often that not, it’s ‘cause we didn’t value that humble rupee.

It has been a while since I wrote my last blog. To put it mildly, things have been quite ‘active’ at the Varghese Residency. If the first pictures that came racing to your mind were that of some busy bodies at work inside a big bungalow, you’re requested to downgrade your imagination a bit. Varghese Residency is a 2 BHK on-loan home, where the eldest Varghese spent most of his time in bed recovering from a surgery, brother Varghese got a transfer back to Mumbai, and me – I quit.

March out in 2013

Here’s wishing the few kind souls who read my blog a very Happy New Year.

People are quite often amused with my belief in GOD. The primary reason for my love for JESUS is the fact that without any effort of my own, I am heir to HIS Kingdom, bought with a high price of HIS blood through HIS crucifixion at Calvary. But if you ask me, why did He have to do that? Precisely. HE didn’t have to. But HE wanted to, so that the world that was heading towards eternal destruction and doom could have a reason for eternal hope and joy. And JESUS volunteered!

While that is ‘The’ reason for my belief, recently, I have been falling deeper in love with HIM after watching and going through some of HIS artistic ‘show-off’! While I knew he loved me, these videos woke me up to the magnitude of HIS love. Pastor Louie Giglio’s talks have largely been influential in letting me just be spell-bound by the awesomeness of this Big Huge GOD that I serve, who also chose to love big!

Guest Post: O My Soul

This blog isn’t big enough to host a guest post yet, but when my friend Daisy George from Mumbai shared this Psalm (that’s what I am calling it) that she wrote out from her experience, I wanted to host it to Oasis immediately. It spoke to me. I am sure it will do the same to you too. Read and be blessed.

Love…

Love came down. Love healed. Love delivered. Love loved. Yet…

Love was betrayed. Love was denied. Love was deserted. Love was whipped. Love was beaten. Love was mocked. Love was spat on. Love was pierced. Love was nailed. Love was crucified. Love bled. Love bled again. And again. Then, Love breathed HIS last & died… Not before… Not before HE uttered in pain, “FATHER, forgive them for they know not what they do!” Yes. Love died! Cause’ Love loved.
